Joseph Parker has dismissed Anthony Joshua’s “unrealistic” claims and insists he will beat the Brit because “he’s not a god”.

The WBO heavyweight world champion was responding to Joshua’s suggestion that no human can beat him, ahead of their unification fight on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Joshua, the WBA and IBF world heavyweight champion, is the overwhelming favourite ahead of their unification title fight and said on Tuesday if he had just £20 in his pocket he would bet on himself knocking out WBO title holder Parker.

Joshua has said he believes he will knock out Joseph Parker in Cardiff on Saturday night when the two heavyweight boxers meet in the ring at the Principality Stadium this saturday.

Joshua is often delayed to his press conferences, but Parker’s promoter David Higgins has warned the IBF and WBA (Super) champion his fighter will not wait around for him to appear.

I am a champion. I am here to take his belts back, so if he sees that as a stepping stone or a change in his life then it’s up to him, whatever he thinks,” Parker told the Sky Sports.

Parker said , “We love challenges. We see him as a big challenge and that’s why we want to fight him.

“I feel it’s my time. I’m young, I’m fast and I’m strong and I’m determined to win. I’m here to be part of history and I’m not just doing it for myself, I’m doing it for my team, my family and my country.

Anthony Joshua said that it will take a superhuman effort for Joseph Parker to stop him from becoming undisputed world heavyweight champion.

Joshua added: “It is an honor to be up here with another world champion. I don’t know how to take his camp in terms of what’s been said and what’s been going on but I take everything with a pinch of salt and I roll with the punches.

Parker Speaks, No excuses: whoever wins will be the best man on the day. I have a lot of family members out here and a lot of supporters and there will be cheers for me on fight night.
